I will happily give $100 to anyone that can get this song out of my head.

happy valentine’s day

A very belated Happy Valentines Day to all you lovers out there.

I’ll set the scene….it is around 11 on a sleepy Italian Tuesday night. Idly drinking vodka and playing Old Maid (don’t ask) we catch the strains of bass booming. We rush out on the balcony and see people across the street in a third floor apartment having a party. Logical decision? Long-distance high five them for showing Tuesday night whose boss, and go about our business.

Screw logic.

We throw on clothes, grab a bottle of vodka and try to find their apartment. After a few erroneous bell ringings, we crash a party where we know no one and don’t speak the language. Needless to say, we had a ballin time. Cheers to friends who are up for anything, a country that gives you an excuse to act illogically and the kind of life that allows you both pleasures.

Noah and The Whale is a part of the new folksy movement stirring in Britain. “Jocasta” is my favorite track but I adore this Wes Anderson inspired video for “Five Years Time”.

Oh well I look at you and say
It's the happiest that I've ever been
And I'll say I no longer feel I have to be James Dean
And she'll say
Yah well I feel all pretty happy too
And I'm always pretty happy when I'm just kicking back with you

Although maybe all these moments are just in my head
I'll be thinking about them as I'm lying in bed
And all that I believe might never really come true
But in my mind I'm having a pretty good time with you

Apologies for my lack of posting…life here in Italy moves at a different pace and I’ve grown used to siesta’s and lazy days. This picture is at the Roman ruins in Fiosole, a small hamlet the overlooks Florence. Despite explicit instructions “not to play on the ruins” we, per usual, made our own fun. Tomorrow it is off to Siena, then Amsterdam next weekend, followed by a week in Rome.

Yeah, I know.
